Spline Systems

Construction adhesive should also be used where panels join together. In the picture below, 2x6 dimensional lumber was used for the spline system. The top and the bottom edges of the lumber should be glued. Although construction adhesive adds some strength to the overall system, it is mainly used as a vapor barrier. Once the floor system is in place, the panels are screwed into the will plate and pony walls using SIP screws.
